Our empowering mental health first aid training courses will provide you with the skills to help someone that may be experiencing poor mental health.

Our instructor-led, interactive classes will teach you how to engage on an emotional level and offer appropriate support.

You will gain a deeper understanding of what mental health is and what factors can affect wellbeing. You will also learn the practical skills to help you spot the signs of mental illness and give you the confidence to step in and support a person in need of assistance.

Mental Health First Aid Two Day Course (Mental Health First Aider).

Who is this course for?

Anyone who has a passion for helping others! The course will equip you with the skills to spot signs of a range of mental health issues and guide a person to appropriate support.

Learning outcomes

The Mental Health First Aid Course will qualify you as a Mental Health First Aider and give you:

  • An in-depth understanding of mental health and the factors that can affect wellbeing
  • Practical skills to spot the triggers and signs of range of mental health issues
  • Confidence to step in, reassure and support a person in distress using an action plan
  • Enhanced interpersonal skills such as non-judgemental listening
  • Knowledge to help someone recover by guiding them to further support
  • Understanding of how to keep yourself safe while performing your role

The course consists of a mix of individual learning activities and four live training sessions. They all take place on our Online Learning Hub.

Each person who completes the course receives:

  • A manual to refer to when needed
  • A workbook which includes a helpful toolkit to support your own mental health
  • A certificate of attendance confirming you are a Mental Health First Aider

Who is this course for?

The MHFA Champions course is ideal for leaders of people and teams. It will equip you with the skills and confidence to spot when someone is struggling and know how and when to offer support.

Learning outcomes

The One Day Course will qualify you as a Mental Health First Aid Champion and will give you:

  • Tools to recognise and support the first signs of mental distress
  • Skills to encourage your teams to thrive
  • Knowledge to understand how using the correct language and listening non-judgementally will have a positive impact on others
  • An understanding of how to help build a mentally healthy workplace, challenge stigma and support positive wellbeing
  • Knowledge and confidence to provide Mental Health First Aid for the most common mental health issues

Each person who completes the course receives:

  • A manual to refer to when needed
  • A workbook which includes a helpful toolkit to support your own mental health
  • A certificate of attendance confirming you are an MHFA Champion

Mental Health First Aid Half Day Course (Mental Health Aware).

Who is this course for?

The Mental Health Aware course is ideal for everyone. It will teach you how to tackle stigma and empower you to access other initiatives and supports. It can be delivered online or face-to-face for a maximum of 16 people.

Learning outcomes

The Half Day Course will qualify you as a Mental Health Aware and give you:

  • An understanding of what mental health is and how to challenge stigma
  • A basic knowledge of some common mental health issues
  • An introduction to looking after your own mental health and wellbeing
  • Confidence to offer support to someone in distress or who may be experiencing a mental health issue

Each person who completes the course receives:

  • A manual to refer to when needed
  • A workbook which includes a helpful toolkit to support your own mental health
  • A certificate of attendance to say you are Mental Health Aware

Mental Health First Aid for Youth Course.

Who is this course for?

The one-day qualification course is suitable for anyone who actively connects with children and young people such as parents, carers, teachers, youth group leaders and young adults.
