Know what to do when you're worried someone may be thinking of suicide

Most of us aren’t taught how to ask someone if they’re thinking about suicide.

We worry we’ll say the wrong thing. Put the idea in their head. Make things worse. Or find ourselves in a conversation we don’t know how to handle.

So sometimes we say nothing.

Unboxing Suicide gives people the confidence and practical skills to ask directly about suicide, listen to the answer and know what to do next.

You’ll learn how to have the conversation, understand when someone may be at risk, support them to stay safe and connect them with additional help when it’s needed.

You don’t need to be a therapist. You do need to be prepared to ask.

You will learn to:

You’ll leave better prepared to have a conversation most people hope they’ll never need to have.

Practice builds confidence

Knowing what to say is one thing. Actually saying it is another.

You’ll have the opportunity to practise asking directly about suicide and responding to what you hear in a safe, supportive training environment.

Nobody is required to share personal experiences or do anything they aren’t comfortable with.

The aim is simple: to make a difficult conversation feel less frightening when it matters.

"I left the session feeling uplifted and empowered. It didn’t just tick a training box – it opened up real conversations. The content was shaped around our people, with the right tone, the right pace, and exactly what we needed to feel confident supporting each other."
